How to Grow- Brussels Sprouts

Brussels Spouts

1. When – Plant in the spring. If you live in a climate with a mild winter, you can also plant in the fall.

2. Where – 8 hours of sun. In a place with rich fertile soil.

3. How – Grow brussels sprouts into seedlings inside about 4-6 weeks before planting. Next plant the seedlings 2 feet apart in rows 3 feet apart. Add a thick layer of mulch on top. When the first small sprouts begin to emerge (10-12 weeks after sowing), fertilize with 5-10-10.

4. Harvesting – Wait till the sprouts are between 1/2 an inch and 1 1/2 inches in size. Harvest starting from the bottom of the plant.

5. Tips – Fertilize with 5-10-10. Don’t plant brussels sprouts in the same place 2 years in a row, as they are very sensitive to soil borne diseases.
