Cabbage
1. When – Plant 6-8 weeks before your last spring frost date.
2. Where – 6-8 hours of sun. In a place with rich fertile soil.
3. How – Grow cabbage into seedlings inside about 4-6 weeks before planting. Next plant the seedlings 1 foot apart in rows 2-3 feet apart. Add a thick layer of mulch on top. Once a month fertilize with 10-10-10.
4. Harvesting – Wait until the cabbage head feels firm, then twist and pull from the base to detach the cabbage.
5. Tips – Fertilize with 10-10-10. Don’t plant cabbage in the same place 2 years in a row, as they are very sensitive to soil borne diseases. Using manure is a great way to prep the soil for cabbage.
