Radish
1. When – Plant in the early spring. If you live in a climate with a mild winter, you can also plant in the fall.
2. Where – 6 hours of sun. Avoid planting in full sun, as the radish can overheat. Partial shade works well.
3. How – Work soil well, spread seeds in rows 3 inches apart, and half an inch deep. STEP 2- Once the plants reach 2 inches thin out the row. There should be 2 inches between each plant. Fertilize after final thinning.
4. Harvesting – Once the root starts to show above the ground they are ready to harvest. Pull radish out by their tops. Ideal size for harvest is 1-1.5 inches in diameter.
5. Tips – Fertilize with 10-10-10. Try interplanting with carrots for a great root crop combo. The tops of radish are also edible.
